This Aluminium Cougar US1 46R built in 1986 for the American Superboat class underwent a bare hull rebuild in 2016 being re-engineered and powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines with Mercury Racing M8 stern drives

The first race for this restored Marathon class race boat was the 2016 Cowes-Torquay-Cowes, crewed by Cougar's Steve Curtis, Richard Carr and Paul Sinclar the Team Cougar won the roughest race in the events history finishing over one hour ahead of the runner up

In 2017 the team retuirned to defend it CTC title with Paul Sinclair being replaced by his son James, setting a new corse record of 97.68mph between Cowes and Torquay the big Cougar suffered steering failure on thje return leg

2018 see's the team changed, due to race commtments in America its not possible for Steve Curtis to race, Richard Carr will be moving into the throttles with Mark Pasco helming, and James Sinclair navigating
